Can you kill someone by biting their neck?

Don't worry I am not planning on doing this in real life. It is for a novel I am trying to write, however I do not wish to go into much detail about what it is about. Basically there is a character who is deranged to say the least. I want him to kill someone by biting through there neck or using his teeth. Is this at all possible anywhere on the body, preferably the neck?
