How do I get over the guilt of my girlfriend being attacked?

I am dating this amazing girl who was blinded in an accident. I take care of her because her family is out of the picture. Last week, when I was out, 2 deranged robbers broke in and stole her valuables. How do I get over feeling completely responsible?
